Raise Your Voice – The Story of HELPP & RSK Mall’s Mission
One day, Pathikrit Saha was on his way to work when a child begging at the station grabbed his leg and asked for money. When he refused, the child became desperate, pulling and pushing until they almost fell onto the railway tracks. In that critical moment, Pathikrit instinctively slapped the child to stop the struggle. But that slap left him feeling uneasy.
He asked the child, “Why are you doing this?”
The child replied, “If I don’t, I won’t get to eat.”
That response shook Pathikrit’s soul. He realized that these children had no choice but to beg for survival. That day, he made a promise: “If we give you food, will you study?” The child eagerly said, “Yes, I will.”
This was the moment HELPP was born.
From One Child to 415 Smiling Faces
Pathikrit started teaching the child right there at the station. Soon, others joined—one became three, three became thirty, and today, 415 children are learning under HELPP. What began as a simple initiative has now transformed into a full-fledged movement, providing not just education but also music, sports, karate, and various skill-building activities.
The Man Behind ‘Roll Kaku’
Pathikrit was once a government employee. But he gave up his stable job to dedicate himself entirely to these children. To support them, he started working as a food delivery agent. When restaurants canceled food orders, instead of letting the food go to waste, he fed it to hungry children. This selfless act earned him the affectionate title of ‘Roll Kaku’, as he often brought rolls for them. His story went viral, and soon, more people started supporting his mission.
